A photo box with instant printing does not mean that every photo is printed automatically. With MyFotobox, the photos are first displayed on an integrated iPad - you decide which ones you really want to keep.

Which printers are used in photo boxes?
Two systems dominate the event industry: Canon Selphy and DNP printers. Both work with dye-sublimation, which produces brilliant, colour-stable prints. The big difference lies in speed, throughput and handling.
Canon Selphy (CP1300 / CP1500)
- Compact devices with very good quality, but rather slow (≈ approx. 60 seconds per image).
- Paper is loaded individually in a cassette (15-20 sheets per load).
- Ideal for small parties, quickly becomes cumbersome for larger events due to refilling.
DNP printer (e.g. DNP DS620)
- Professional event printer with 8-10 seconds printing time per 10×15 cm image - up to 400 prints per hour.
- Uses paper and ribbon sets (≈ 400 images per set), changeable in minutes.
- Also used by photo studios and photographers for passport and laboratory photos.

- Canon Selphy vs DNP DS620: Both systems deliver outstanding photo quality. The difference lies in the speed. Canon Selphy printers need approx. 60 seconds / photo, the DNP DS620 only approx. 10 seconds / printout. For events with many guests, a DNP printer is clearly more efficient.
Paper & capacity of photo box printers
The paper and ribbon capacity is crucial if you have a lot of guests or are planning long events. While compact printers such as the Canon Selphy need to be refilled regularly, professional devices such as the DNP DS620 are designed for continuous use.
Canon Selphy
- Uses single sheets (no roll) - about 15-20 images per cassette.
- Media packs contain 36 / 72 / 108 sheets with ribbon, but not everything fits in at the same time.
DNP DS620
- Works with paper and ribbon sets for ≈ 400 prints (10×15 cm).
- Quick to change and made for continuous operation.
